Hi!

My name is Lori Chandler and I write and design all the content on Major Third. I started this blog because I have a lot of thoughts, feelings, hard opinions, and hot takes on music… and I needed to express them, or I’d smash something like Pete Townshend lol jk PHOEBE BRIDGERS smashes her guitars.

I’m a writer by trade (The New York Times, Big Think, CollegeHumor) and a nerd by design. Dumb facts include: I have 26 books on The Beatles, I’ve seen the band Tennis live 6 times, I have 300+ Spotify playlists, and no matter what the album is, I prefer it on vinyl. Pretentious? Maybe, but that feels a little judgey. I’d lean towards “refined taste.”

My hope is that somehow, something on this blog makes you go “hmm, I never really thought of it like that” or “finally, someone gets it!” or “this chick is trippin’, I have differing strong opinions!” Whatever your reaction is, I’d love to hear it. HMU on Twitter or email me, and let’s talk jamz.
